Be glad you don't play bass, one of those boat anchors can permanently damage your shoulder.

it's one of the many reasons i love our bass--it has a hollow body, which makes it far more palatable to carry around. but yes--i have tried my luck with solid basses, and goddamn if i can barely lift the things!
